NEVER SETTLING STRUCTURE

The settlement of a conventional log wall can cause many unpleasant surprises. To avoid this, builders have usually left a big enough margin for settlement above windows, doors and intermediate walls. However, this is not always enough as external wall exposed to south and internal walls usually shrink morethan other walls.

We have standard 170 mm and 120 mm too timberframe in Thermo log houses. This kind of wall will not settle. The owner can decorate the house with freely chosen materials from tiles to wallpapers. The fixed furniture can reach up to the ceiling. No margins for settlement are needed.

HIGH-QUALITY RAW MATERIAL

We use the high-quality raw material. The wood is close-grained red Nordic pine of Northern Finland. It ensure superior product together with high production quality. Log corners are heart timber.

 

DRAUGHTLESS AND SOUNDPROOF WALLS

A windbreak board, used within a wall, prevents wind from blowing through the thermal insulation. The thick thermal insulation acts also as superb sound insulation.

NO CRACKS OR SPLITS

Massive log walls split and crack almost always. The cracks inside collect dirt and dust. Outside they get filled with water, which can cause rot and mould damages during the years. This annoying problem does not appear in the walls of CONUS.

SELF-VENTILATING WALL CONSTRUCTION

When building a wall, a ventilation gap should be left between insulation and the siding. Insulation is never to be fastened straight against siding. Behind of siding there is a ventilation gap. It reaches from the foundation up to the roof. Moisture is evaporated to open air from the wall structure. This ensures dry and long-lasting wall structure without rot and mould damages.

PREFABRICATED THERMO LOG HOME

Outside walls are delivered to a high degree prefabricated from modern factory, which enables a rapid and easy erection of the house. Most items from external walls and gable triangles to sauna benches are sent as large wall units or otherwise ready-made. Frame of house is built under a roof foil up in 1-14 days according dimension.

ECONOMIC SOLUTION

The delivery as complete in material as possible, prefab technology, and low-cost use and preparation make CONUS an economic solution for the buyer. Wood as light construction material is more economic as raw material than stone, more economic to transport and built.

 

Saving energy: thick heat insulation in exterior walls minimise heating costs in winter and air condition use in summer.
Safe investment: maintained wooden house last at least 100 years. Wooden houses survive from earthquakes and from ground movements much better than stone houses. Unburnable mineral wool insulation inside structures retard fire effectively to spread out.
Short construction time and only minimal of energy consuption: no water is used to built up structures of wooden house, so no drying work and drying time is needed. No need expensive building electric energy, serve for e.g. only an extension cord from neighbour or a little genset.
The bigger useful area: with same exterior space, wooden house have about 10-15% more floor area than stone house.

BREATHING INSULATION ALTERNATIVE
